WELCOME TO ORCHARD BARN

A lovely, quiet retreat on the edge of Corfton, right on the doorstep of brilliant walking and cycling with rural views towards the Brown Clee Hills.  Easily accessible, we’re only 8 miles away from the historic and beautiful market town of Ludlow, famous for its festivals, food markets and restaurants!

Hi there,

If you’re looking for somewhere that’s both quiet and special, we’ve renovated and furnished this 2 bedroom barn to the same high specifications as our own home.  It has a private outdoor space with a dining table and gas bbq all ready for you to spark up.  By installing a king-size double and a bunk bed in the second bedroom, we think it’s ideal for a romantic getaway, family holidays or an active break.

Situated in the picturesque and peaceful Corvedale, we love the variety of gentle and hilly walking or cycling on offer locally:  the Three Castles walking route is right on our doorstep, the Brown Clee Hills are nearby and there’s more to choose from in the beautiful South Shropshire Hills.  In the local area, there’s lots to do if you want to wander around market towns with independent shops, explore the industrial heritage of Telford, clamber over the ruins of local castles or meander around beautiful gardens & nurseries.

We hope you’ll love Orchard Barn as much as we do and really look forward to welcoming you to this magical spot!

AROUND AND ABOUT

We’re located in the peaceful and picturesque Corvedale.  Pretty little villages, traditional pubs and local nurseries can be reached via quiet lanes, bridlepaths and footpaths each weaving their way through the farming landscape.

We’re centrally situated for walking or cycling in the South Shropshire Hills and it’s really easy to reach the Wenlock Edge and Brown Clee Hills from Orchard Barn.  A short car journey enables you to reach the Clun Valley, Stiperstones, Long Mynd and Caer Caradoc – just a few of the highlights in the area.

The medieval town of Ludlow is just 8 miles away.  With a lively and friendly feel, it will entice you in to its many cafes, bars and restaurants.  It has a great selection of independent shops whether you’re after food, clothing, art, books or antiques.  Ludlow Castle acts as the backdrop to the many festivals, fairs and carnivals in the town and the Ludlow Assembly Rooms host cinema, music & drama.

On Arrival & During Your Stay

The barn is located at the side and rear of our cottage, so we will be available (most likely in person, but if not via mobile).  Where possible we will be here to welcome you to Orchard Barn, but if not, we will put the key in a key safe and share a unique code number with you before arrival.

Just let us know if you would like tips or recommendations to help make the most of your stay.

Just a few things we’d like you to be aware of:

  • No smoking, pets or parties please!
  • We have a very timid cat called Hobo who may eventually build up the confidence to come and say hello.  If you don’t want her near you, just walk towards her or speak with a very loud voice and she’ll soon run away.
  • There is a small brook (1-2ft deep) at the bottom of our small paddock.  The field is fenced and gated as we regularly have sheep or cattle grazing.  Parents/guardians need to keep children under supervision.
